Thermally modified wood is wood that has been modified by a controlled pyrolysis process of wood being heated (> 180 °C) in absence of oxygen inducing some chemical changes to the chemical structures of cell wall components (lignin, cellulose and hemicellulose) in the wood in order to increase its durability. This premium materials is resilient, rugged, attractive, and offer a long service life with little need for maintenance.

From the quote, planning, demolition, construction and finishing, they were all very professional and skilled in their work. We chose to use appearance grade Douglas Fir and are exceptionally pleased with the final results! They also built a small patio off the second level which is beautiful.
